Merkur Group has acquired US-based game developer White Hat Studios to strengthen its position in the American market. The transaction, finalized in July 2026, covers the studio’s slots portfolio while excluding its platform and white-label operations.
The acquisition aims to enhance White Hat’s game development capabilities and integrate its content into Merkur’s omnichannel strategy. Andy Whitworth, president of White Hat Studios, stated that joining the group supports the company’s growth ambitions and product innovation goals established since its 2021 founding.

White Hat Studios holds licenses in seven regulated US states. Its catalog features the 7s Fire Blitz™ series, the Jackpot Royale™ progressive network, and the House of Brands collection. Lars Felderhoff, chairman of Merkur’s management board, noted that the studio’s growth trajectory aligns with Merkur’s objectives for regulated igaming expansion.
This transaction follows Merkur’s recent acquisition of Gaming Arts in Nevada and the purchase of Victoria Gate Casino in Leeds, United Kingdom. The Leeds venue temporarily closed on July 6 for rebranding and resumed operations on July 13 under the Merkur name.
