Wynn Resorts has unveiled the 550-meter beachfront at its Al Marjan Island development in the UAE while confirming a new September 2027 opening date. The resort's launch is now scheduled six months later than the initial March 2027 target following a temporary construction pause.
Shoreline and Interior Features
The newly constructed shoreline features a protected lagoon designed for swimming and snorkeling, flanked by submerged rock formations. Offshore, engineered reef structures have been installed to foster marine habitats, with early signs of coral colonization and osprey nesting already observed. Max Tappeiner, president of Wynn Al Marjan Island, described the project as the company's first beachfront destination, emphasizing the focus on guest privacy and calm water conditions.
Inside the resort, a fine art gallery will display a collection including a 17th-century tapestry, Victorian-era cut glass, and an 18th-century Buccleuch vase. During the second quarter, Wynn Resorts contributed $48.1 million toward the development, where it maintains a 40% ownership stake.
The integrated resort was first announced in 2022 and received its commercial gaming license from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority in October 2024. Construction work was suspended in February due to regional conflict before resuming in March to ensure employee safety.
